The film of the day: The Wind that Shakes the Barley
I had never seen an Irish politics film until today and was "The Wind That Shakes The Barley". A film that shows the hard political reality of Ireland during the 1920s. It's a wonderful and intense movie that keeps you alert for its all duration. I really liked how shows the fight between the Irish and the English.
Although all the characters in the film were quite interesting I chosen with Damien, because he is a man with a strong character. He left everything - until his medical studies - following his principles; defend his country and fight for the freedom all the Irish people.
If I had to choose one thing of the film I decided for the location, even though the film is purely political, the photography was wonderfully engineered to show the beauty of the countryside. I didn't like of the movie was too raw and I'm intolerant of torture scenes.
I really like the last scene, again shows the hard political reality of Ireland, taking this feeling to the extreme representing it with the dispute between brothers because of their different ideals. Taking them to the murder.
